Today, we’re checking out something really exciting — the brand-new NerdQAxe++ Rev 6.1 Bitcoin miner, sent over by mineshop. I opened the box, so we’re going to do a full unboxing, walkthrough, and initial test to see what’s new with this latest revision. 🔗 Checkout the miner here Mineshop.eu: https://mineshop.eu/nerdqaxe-rev6-bitcoin-solo-miner?currency=USD/?wpam_id=12 What’s Inside the Box? The NerdQAxe++ Rev 6.1 comes super well-packed with foam protection. Inside, we get: - The NerdQAxe++ miner itself (Rev 6.1) - A power adapter (though I’ll be using my custom metal PSU setup for better efficiency) - A manual with frequency and voltage warnings - A nice stand that keeps the miner stable, similar to the one on my Octaxes The manual clearly states: do not operate above 750 MHz or 1200 mV, or you risk overheating or hardware failure. What’s New on Rev 6.1? Compared to the first-generation NerdQAxe++, Rev 6.1 has some major upgrades: - Dual-fan cooling (front and rear) — helps keep chip temps low and improves overclocking potential - XT30 power connector instead of the old barrel plug — safer and handles more power efficiently - Improved VRM and capacitors — higher voltage tolerance for more stable performance - LilyGo OLED screen with easy button controls — you can even turn the screen off if desired - Overall better airflow and thermal management I immediately noticed that the chip temps stay under 60°C while running at 6.1 TH/s, which is a significant improvement over the first-gen model. Power Supply Setup? I’ve been moving away from standard power bricks because they get extremely hot on 120V setups. Instead, I’m using a metal PSU with a fan, which stays cool at around 40–50°C. This allows me to safely push the NerdQAxe++ to its limits without worrying about overheating or efficiency drops. Initial Performance Test Once powered up and connected via Wi-Fi, the setup is super easy: Connect to the NerdQAxe++ Wi-Fi Enter your pool of choice and Wi-Fi SSID Watch the miner start hashing immediately Here’s what we’re seeing: Hashrate: ~6.1 TH/s Power draw: ~115W from the wall Chip temp: 59°C VRM temp: 53°C Fan speed: 100% Efficiency: 16.75 W/TH Chapters: 0:00 New Bitcoin Solo Miner Arrival (NerdQAxe++ Rev 6.1) 0:32 NerdQAxe++ Rev 6.1 Unboxing & First Look 0:55 Manual, Specs & Safety Disclaimer 1:12 What’s Included in the Box 1:42 Hardware Upgrades – Dual Fans & XT30 Connector 2:40 Rev 6.1 Internal Changes & Overclocking Potential 3:26 Power Supply Choices – 120V vs 240V 4:10 Powering On & Cooling Test 5:09 WiFi Setup & Miner Configuration 5:34 Real Hashrate & Power Consumption Results 6:11 Temps, Efficiency & Stability 6:49 First-Gen vs Rev 6.1 Comparison 7:06 Final Thoughts – Is This the Best Solo Miner Going Into 2026? 8:06 Power Limits, Overclock Plans & Wrap-Up Compared to the first-gen NerdQAxe++, which ran around 4.85 TH/s with higher temps and no rear fan, this is a major improvement. Solo Mining Bitcoin: Right now, I’m solo mining Bitcoin with this little beast. I’ll be keeping it running for a while to see if we can hit a block. The improved cooling and airflow should help it run consistently for long periods. Final Thoughts: The NerdQAxe++ Rev 6.1 is a massive step forward for small Bitcoin miners. The dual-fan setup, upgraded XT30 connector, and improved VRM make this miner not only more efficient but also much safer and cooler than the previous revision. Huge thanks to Guntis at minehop.eu for sending this over to showcase for you guys! If you’re interested in checking one out for yourself, links are down below. 💬 Let me know in the comments: - Should I try pushing this miner even further with an overclock? - Are you interested in a full long-term solo mining test with this Rev 6.1? Thanks again for watching, my friends.
