US Dollar continues to weaken, Japan-US trade talks stall

The US dollar has had its worst start to the year since 1973. The greenback is trading at multiyear lows against most major currencies. Against the euro, it's near a four-year low and, against Japanese yen, it hit a 10-year low. Trade negotiations with Japan have hit an impasse over rice and auto exports.
