Macgregor warns the strategic petroleum reserve hits bottom between mid-July and early August, that oil in India is already at $118 a barrel, jet fuel at $250, and that 70 percent of US farmers cannot afford fertilizer. A second bombing campaign, he says, would trigger a global depression with no recovery for at least a decade. He states that all 27 plus US forward bases in the region are effectively destroyed, that the Navy is sailing 500 to 800 miles offshore to avoid being sunk, and that Iran can target any vessel entering the strait using space-based surveillance d directly to cruise and ballistic missile systems. Macgregor warns that 67 million people across the Gulf States depend on desalination plants that cannot function without power, and that knocking out the power grid achieves the same result as striking the plants directly.
