Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. debuted Qwen3.8-Max, its latest AI model, ahead of next week’s planned open-weight release to the public.
The new model features 2.4 trillion parameters and outperforms Moonshot’s newly launched Kimi K3 on multiple benchmarks. It also marks the company’s return to its open-source roots after several of its top-tier AI models were launched as proprietary offerings earlier this year.
The new model is now available on Alibaba Cloud’s Model Studio APIs and through QwenWork, the company’s AI assistant platform for businesses.
