Bundesbank Tests ZKsync Prividium as Matter Labs Open-Sources Institutional Engine

Matter Labs said on September 8 it had open-sourced Prividium’s permissioning engine, making the core software available for institutions to run, inspect and modify in their own environments. Deutsche Bundesbank is the first institution testing and deploying the engine within its own infrastructure, according to a report by The Block.

The move shifts a central part of Matter Labs’ institutional blockchain offering from vendor-controlled software to publicly available code. It gives organisations such as banks a route to operate the permissioning layer in their own technical environments while retaining access to commercial tooling where needed.
