According to a report by Bloomberg, Hyperliquid, one of the industry’s most prominent decentralized derivatives platforms, is in preliminary talks with Payward Inc., the parent company of the Kraken exchange, to evaluate a potential regulated expansion into the U.S. market. The negotiations seek to leverage the CFTC-supervised derivatives infrastructure and licenses held by Payward through Bitnomial in order to enable on-chain perpetuals trading in U.S. territory under full regulatory compliance.

This outreach represents a key milestone for decentralized finance (DeFi), as direct access to the U.S. market has historically been restricted for permissionless perpetuals protocols. Following the initial reports, the network’s native token, HYPE, experienced a strong bullish momentum that pushed it above $83, reflecting investor optimism surrounding increased institutional adoption and liquidity volume.

The terms of the deal have not been formally concluded, but the integration will require implementing strict territorial filters and technical verification mechanisms.
