Michael Saylor Says Bitcoin Is Growing Beyond Its Roots Into Global Finance

Strategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor said Bitcoin has moved beyond its original role as a peer-to-peer payment network, arguing that the cryptocurrency is becoming a broader financial asset.
In a post titled “The Bitcoin Reformation,” Saylor said individuals, companies, banks, exchanges, funds and governments now use Bitcoin. His comments came as Bitcoin traded above $79,000 following a strong weekly rally.
Bitcoin Moves Beyond Early Ideology
Saylor also questioned some of the ideas that shaped Bitcoin’s early years, saying principles meant to protect users should not prevent the network from expanding.
