According to reports, the outage did not stop Solana from running. Jacob Creech, a technology executive at the Solana Foundation, said an infrastructure provider used by some validators failed overnight. Even with that problem, blocks continued to be produced, and transactions continued to land on the network.

The numbers show why the failure did not become a network outage. Out of 699 staked validators, 597 kept voting during the incident. That is about 85% of the staked set, or roughly six out of every seven validators. The affected validators recovered within 40 minutes.
