Sun announced the target on Aug. 27 at the Bitcoin Asia 2026 conference in Hong Kong, highlighting growing concerns around quantum computing.
TRON Advances Quantum-Resistant Development
TRON has spent the past year developing technology designed to protect blockchain accounts from future quantum computing threats. Accordingly, the network introduced a quantum-resistant address solution during the first half of 2026.
The solution has already reached TRON’s testnet, allowing developers to evaluate its performance before any broader deployment.
However, the year-end target extends an earlier timeline announced by Sun in April for the network’s mainnet transition. At that time, TRON targeted a quantum-resistant testnet during the second quarter and mainnet implementation during the third quarter.
