Blockchain.com Secures Cayman VASP License to Offer Custody Services
Blockchain.com obtained a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license granted by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) to offer cryptocurrency custody services in that jurisdiction.
The license was granted on July 22, 2026, following a conditional approval issued by CIMA in December 2025. In addition to custody, the authorization allows the company to offer crypto-to-fiat and crypto-to-crypto exchange services in the region.
Blockchain.com had already held a VASP registration in the Cayman Islands since May 2022. The new license adds to its regulatory stack: the company obtained a license under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) in Europe and completed its registration with the United Kingdom’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
Lane Kasselman, co-CEO of Blockchain.com, noted that these approvals “strengthen the ability to serve clients across the region” and emphasized that robust regulation is essential for the long-term development of digital assets.
