DCG Grows Mining Empire, Signals Stronger Commitment to Zcash
Digital Currency Group (DCG), through its Fortitude platform, announced the purchase of a 12.5 MW data center in Prosser, Nebraska, for $4.7 million. With this move, the company surpasses 60 MW of self-owned energy capacity, consolidating the vision of its CEO, Barry Silbert, to turn Zcash (ZEC) into his next strategic high-yield bet.

With this operation, they aim to significantly reduce operational costs, bringing the direct production cost of each ZEC down to nearly $40. Thanks to a prior $31.5 million deal with Bitmain to incorporate 9,000 Antminer Z15 Pro miners, Fortitude will control over 28% of the global Zcash network hash rate, reinforcing its industrial dominance.
As a next step, Fortitude is moving forward with its merger with publicly traded company HeartSciences (HSCS). Following SEC review, the firm expects to finalize the transaction in the second half of 2026 to list on Nasdaq under the ticker TUDE, creating the first publicly traded institutional platform focused on Zcash mining.
