Elon Musk’s Terafab construction plan puts a $16.8 billion chip factory at the center of Grimes County, Texas, where SpaceX and Tesla are building it right now. Terafab spans about 100 million square feet, which makes it more than five times larger than the world’s current largest building, and it also combines logic, memory, and advanced packaging all under one roof. The SpaceX chip factory should create 3,000 jobs in its first phase alone, and that number could grow as later phases get underway.
