MetaMask Adds Scam Warnings and Transaction-Reversion Protection

MetaMask announced on September 14 new protections for romance and investment scams, showing contextual prompts and alerts immediately before users send funds. The system uses Blockaid checks to identify malicious destination addresses across supported EVM networks and is live in MetaMask Mobile version 8.11 and later and MetaMask Extension version 13.48 and later, according to the companyโs announcement.
A separate MetaMask mechanism is intended to reverse transactions when execution differs from the preview; the company also offers a paid product with coverage for eligible losses.
