MoonPay Unveils PayBox, Enabling ChatGPT and Claude to Make Real-World Payments

MoonPay announced this Wednesday the launch of PayBox, an innovative payment vault designed to connect artificial intelligence assistants like ChatGPT and Claude with real-world commerce. Through this tool, users can order crypto transactions, perform swaps, and execute everyday purchases using natural language commands. 

The development is built on the open x402 standard and a non-custodial architecture powered by MPC technology, ensuring that neither the AI nor MoonPay has access to private keys. PayBox supports Solana and EVM networks, in addition to integrating with payment cards through Visa’s commerce protocol, marking a milestone in the convergence between autonomous agents and digital finance. 

The tool bridges the gap between conversational analysis and financial execution while keeping users in control of their funds through customized permissions and passkeys. The service is already operational for direct use and integration.
