Dormant Bitcoin activity has accelerated sharply in August, with 2,209.05 BTC moving from long-inactive addresses during the first 10 days of the month. That total already exceeds July’s full-month figure of 1,264.16 BTC, according to data tracked by Btcparser.com. The transfers involve addresses created between 2010 and 2017, placing the coins among Bitcoin’s older holdings.

The pace is particularly notable. July averaged about 40.78 BTC in tracked dormant transfers per day, while August has reached 220.91 BTC daily. Transaction activity has also increased, with 85 dormant spends recorded through August 10 compared with only 30 during July.
