BitGo will move $7.3 billion in WBTC cross-chain infrastructure from LayerZero to Chainlink CCIP. The shift makes Chainlink the exclusive interoperability provider for the widely used tokenized Bitcoin product. It also lifts announced LayerZero-to-Chainlink migrations across the crypto sector to roughly $14.6 billion.
WBTC moves to Chainlink’s cross-chain standard
BitGo will standardize WBTC deployments through Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Token standard. The company will also use CCIP by default for future digital assets it issues. This approach creates one operating framework for transfers across several supported blockchain networks.
