China’s CXMT Just Beat Micron (MU) to a Next-Gen Memory Milestone

TLDR

  • China’s CXMT claims it has achieved the world’s first commercial deployment of LPDDR6 memory chips
  • CXMT will supply LPDDR6 for Xiaomi’s 18 Fold foldable smartphone
  • This marks the first time a Chinese memory company may have reached a cutting-edge standard ahead of Micron, Samsung, and SK Hynix
  • CXMT is also suing the Pentagon to be removed from a “Chinese military company” blacklist
  • The Roundhill Memory ETF (DRAM) offers exposure to both Micron (25% weighting) and CXMT (4.95% weighting)
