Longtime Bitcoin Investor Ross Gerber Turns Against BTC Over Saylor
Ross Gerber, a longtime Bitcoin investor and prominent Tesla bull, said this week on X that Michael Saylor’s influence has made him question Bitcoin, writing that it is “hard to take it seriously anymore.”
Gerber’s criticism follows Strategy’s recent Bitcoin sales, which have drawn attention because the company has historically built its identity around aggressive BTC accumulation. Strategy sold 1,690 BTC for about $109 million last week, following another $105 million sale, with proceeds directed toward preferred-stock obligations and its financial reserves.
Gerber has repeatedly criticized Saylor’s use of debt and capital markets to expand Strategy’s Bitcoin holdings. However, Strategy continues to hold hundreds of thousands of BTC, meaning the recent disposals represent only a fraction of its overall position. The sales also reflect corporate financing needs rather than a stated rejection of Bitcoin itself.
