Solana Network Upgrade Makes it Faster and Cheaper: But Will it Move SOL Price?

In Solana news Today, the new Transaction V1 format went live on mainnet at approximately 01:00 UTC on September 15, 2026, raising the maximum size of a single transaction from 1,232 bytes to 4,096 bytes, according to the Solana Foundation.

That is roughly 3.3 times more room for instructions, signatures, and account data packed into one transaction. This changes how much data a transaction can carry, not how many transactions Solana processes per second, and most users should see ordinary SOL transfers look and feel the same.
