Flare Lets XRP Holders Trade Options With FXRP Collateral
XRP holders now have a new tool within the Flare ecosystem: the integration between the Flare network and decentralized exchange Derive allows using FXRP —the token representing XRP on the Flare blockchain— as collateral to trade options and perpetual futures.
The mechanism works through Flare’s FAssets bridge, which converts tokens such as Bitcoin, XRP and Dogecoin into ERC-20 assets within the network. Users mint FXRP, deposit it into a Derive Portfolio Margin V2 account and trade derivatives directly from their own wallets, without relying on a centralized exchange.
XRP options are now live on Derive with @FlareNetworks’ FXRP added as collateral.

Options are settled in USDC: if a position expires in profit, Derive pays the difference in the stablecoin while FXRP remains as collateral. Options sellers must maintain sufficient USDC to cover the settlement and required margin, or face the risk of forced liquidation.
