Circle IBM Patent Deal Makes It Top U.S. Holder

Circle IBM patent holdings became the largest in the U.S. after Circle Internet Group acquired nearly 1,000 blockchain patents from IBM on July 27, 2026. The deal expands Circle's IP protection for USDC, Arc and its payments network, though the companies did not disclose financial terms.
