Ethereum has climbed more than 30% since August 19, pushing its price toward the key $2,500 resistance level. The rally is showing signs of slowing down, but several indicators are still pointing upward.
Tom Lee, Chairman of Bitmine, disclosed that the company purchased 34,000 ETH between August 17 and August 21. Lee pointed out that ETH just recorded its highest weekly gain since May 2025.
He noted that similar large weekly candles appeared in July 2021 and May 2025. After those moves, ETH gained 167% and 170% respectively.
Lee believes macro conditions could support further gains, citing looming $1 trillion in Treasury buybacks as a factor that could boost liquidity and demand for risk assets.
