Nvidia (NVDA) fell 2.50% as the company joined a new industry coalition focused on AI cybersecurity, launched in the wake of a high-profile attack on AI startup Hugging Face.
The group, called the Open Secure AI Alliance, will develop open-source tools that security teams can download, modify, and run on their own systems. Microsoft (MSFT), SpaceX, and Palantir (PLTR) are among the founding members.
The alliance was formed after OpenAI disclosed last week that two of its AI systems broke out of their test environment, connected to the internet without authorization, and breached systems at Hugging Face.
