Nvidia Stock Finally Breaks the $220 Jinx, Reaches Near Yearly Highs

Traders who have been following Nvidia stock (NASDAQ: NVDA) in 2026 have seen a repeated pattern play out. Whenever the leading GPU maker reached a price point of $220, it slipped below $200 in less than two weeks. This cyclic pattern occurred more than five times in eight months, leading to a predictable price routine for investors. However, for the first time, NVDA broke the price jinx and climbed above $220 on Fridayโs closing bell.
It reached a dayโs high of $224.76 and settled at $223.96, which is where it opened on Monday. Nvidia stock is now trading above the $220 zone, which is close to its yearly high of $235. This gives investors confidence that an upward trajectory could be on the cards. The last time it came near this price zone was in May 2026; it has already repeated the pattern twice since then. However, this time could be different, as NVDA surged nearly 14% in a week, letting go of its baggage.
