Over 350M ORBS Back OIP-9 to Form the Orbs DAO

Orbs said OIP-9 passed after staked ORBS holders voted on Snapshot between July 30 and August 6, formally establishing the Orbs DAO. The proposal drew 351.97 million ORBS in favor, with zero votes against or abstaining, clearing the 100 million ORBS quorum by more than three times and giving the new DAO an unusually decisive governance mandate.

At launch, the DAO controls defined protocol parameters, Guardian certification, major network upgrades and new protocol deployments. A 2-of-4 multisig deployed at the same address on Ethereum and Polygon holds the Functional Manager and Certification Manager roles, while major upgrades and new deployments still require approved OIP votes before execution.

Orbs said the transfer of the relevant protocol roles to the DAO multisig is already complete and recorded on-chain. Future proposals may extend governance into protocol revenue, burn mechanisms, liquidity strategies, grants and tokenomics, but each expansion requires another community vote, making gradual authority transfer the next measure of the DAO’s decentralization path.
