Registration Opens the Door – Not the Destination
Robinhood U.K. Ltd. was added to the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) cryptoasset register on July 31, allowing the company to conduct certain cryptoasset activities under the Money Laundering Regulations (MLRs).
The registration permits Robinhood to:
- Receive and transmit cryptoasset orders.
- Arrange and execute crypto transactions.
- Conduct cryptoasset business under the UK’s AML supervision.
- The authorization is intentionally limited.
Robinhood cannot hold or control client money in connection with these crypto services and cannot operate crypto ATMs without obtaining separate written approval from the FCA.
