Kraken Prime Rolls Out Unified Trading, Settlement and Access Tools
Kraken said August 27 that it overhauled Kraken Prime from an API-access platform into a full institutional interface covering execution, settlement, access controls and order management. The redesign brings multi-venue liquidity and programmatic pricing into a single regulated workflow, reducing reliance on desk-managed or API-only processes.
Prime clients can now self-manage the full post-trade settlement cycle, including batch creation, live exposure monitoring, settlement confirmation and report exports. The interface also unifies orders, fills and trade history whether execution came through the UI, API or Krakenโs desk, giving operations and compliance teams one real-time view of institutional activity without separate data pulls.
Kraken also added role-based permissions and direct access to limit, market, Spot RFQ and TWAP orders. Existing Prime clients can reach the interface through Kraken Pro, while full settlement automation is still being developed. The next test is whether self-service controls and a unified execution record can reduce operational friction at institutional scale.
