Oregon Caregiver Indicted on Felony Charges for Neglecting Elderly Medicaid Recipients and Submitting Fraudulent Bills

An Oregon caregiver faces multiple felony charges after authorities allege she neglected two elderly and disabled Medicaid recipients while billing the state for services never delivered.

Officials say the woman withheld necessary physical care from the individuals between August and December 2025 and submitted false claims that resulted in theft of more than $10,000 from the Medicaid program on at least two occasions, reports Statesman Journal.

The woman was charged with multiple counts of criminal mistreatment in the first degree, making a false claim for health care payment and aggravated theft in the first degree, says Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield. She was arrested July 29th by Salem Police detectives and remains held in the Marion County Jail.

Court records indicate she is prohibited from contacting the two individuals involved in the case.

The woman is scheduled for arraignment on August 12th.

An adult protective services worker at NorthWest Senior and Disability Services first reported the allegations to investigators.
