Bitcoin Quiet August Hides Defensive Signals, VanEck Finds

Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, or more known as CZ, cautioned against concentrated Bitcoin bets during a Binance Clubhouse AMA in Bali. His comments came as Bitcoin stood about 49% below its all-time high, according to VanEckโ€™s mid-August 2026 ChainCheck report.

VanEck said Bitcoin closed at $63,549 on August 11, essentially flat month over month, while 30-day realized volatility eased to 27.2% annualized, well below the long-run average near 80%. CZ has also said the marketโ€™s traditional four-year cycle remains intact, placing his warning on concentration alongside a continued focus on the longer-term cycle framework.

CZ warned against concentrated bets, according to the supplied official Binance account of the AMA. The account describes monthly dollar-cost averaging of 1% to 10% of income into top assets, while not providing a detailed personalized allocation plan.

VanEck reported that Bitcoin traded in a relatively narrow $62,265 to $66,509 range over the preceding 30 days, after stabilizing from its June summer low. The firm also noted that spot trading volume over that period was down 27% month over month and ranked in the 10th percentile of its history.
