Robinhood is now approved to offer crypto services in UK

Robinhood has joined a handful of companies licensed to offer crypto services in the United Kingdom.ย
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) records show that Robinhood has been included in the countryโs registry of approved crypto assets firms as of July 31.
The listing confirms the crypto-friendly trading platform meets the FCAโs money-laundering requirements or MLRs, which are required of crypto asset providers to operate in the UK.
The registry includes just over 50 companies. Among the MLRs registered firms are PayPal, BlackRock, MoonPay, Bitstamp, Revolut, and Gemini.
The Bank of New York Mellon is also another recent addition to the list. The bank was added to the list on June 22, according to the FCA record.
The FCA registration comes two years after Robinhood officially became available in the UK.
Robinhood began offering its crypto services back in 2018.
In 2022, it attempted to enter the UK market by acquiring FCA-registered Ziglu Limited. Both companies had reached an agreement on the deal, reportedly worth 170 million. However, it collapsed due to valuation cuts and market shifts.
