Senate Republicans Release Final CLARITY Act Draft After Trump Backs Most Ethics Provisions

Senate Republicans released a final 635-page draft of the CLARITY Act on September 14, one day before a scheduled September 15 cloture vote. The lawmakers said the text contains 126 substantive changes requested by Democrats, setting up the next procedural test for the crypto-market-structure bill.

Trump accepts most proposed crypto ethics restrictions

The revised legislation also reflects a reported agreement by President Donald Trump to accept about 80% of a crypto ethics proposal associated with Senators Thom Tillis and Ruben Gallego. The proposal includes requirements for officials to divest significant crypto-related interests or place them in a blind trust, according to the Associated Press.
