Today I'm upgrading my AI server rack with a brand new 10Gb networking setup using a Ubiquiti USW Pro XG 8 PoE switch. Before I start deploying more GPU servers, I wanted to make sure the network infrastructure is ready for high-speed connectivity, VLAN isolation, and future expansion. In this video I walk through my current homelab setup, including my Dream Machine Pro, aggregation switch, UNAS Pro storage, Proxmox cluster, and how everything connects together. I also discuss why I chose to stay within the Ubiquiti ecosystem despite cheaper alternatives being available. As I continue building out my AI and GPU rental infrastructure, networking and security become increasingly important. VLAN segmentation, operational security, and proper network design are critical when allowing customers to access rented hardware. Let me know in the comments: Would you have gone with fiber or Cat6A for this setup? 👍 Like the video if you enjoy homelab, AI server, and networking content.
