Strategy Buys Back $139 Million in Shares but Adds No Bitcoin for a Second Week

Strategy repurchased 1.42 million STRC preferred shares for a total of $139.3 million between September 8 and 13, according to an 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company funded the repurchases using its dollar cash reserve, which as of September 14 recorded a balance of $1.3 billion, while its USD Reserve stood at $5.1 billion.

Strategy made no bitcoin purchases or sales during the week, leaving its holdings unchanged for the second consecutive week at 845,050 BTC, equivalent to $65.7 billion.

The total accumulated acquisition cost stands at $63.7 billion, with an average purchase price of $75,412 per unit, implying paper gains of approximately $2 billion at current prices.

Under its new Digital Credit Capital Framework, Strategy authorized a $2 billion repurchase program for its digital credit securities, with an initial priority on STRC, and approved an ordinary share repurchase of $1 billion.

Strategyโ€™s co-founder and executive chairman, Michael Saylor, has stopped posting his usual bitcoin tracker updates on Sundays, a practice that historically anticipated acquisition announcements.
