  • TRON targets a quantum-resistant network upgrade by the end of 2026.
  • Developers are testing Falcon- and Dilithium-based signatures on Nile.
  • Growing stablecoin activity increases the importance of stronger network security.

TRON founder Justin Sun says the network aims to complete its quantum-resistant upgrade by the end of 2026.

Sun announced the target on Aug. 27 at the Bitcoin Asia 2026 conference in Hong Kong, highlighting growing concerns around quantum computing.

TRON Advances Quantum-Resistant Development

TRON has spent the past year developing technology designed to protect blockchain accounts from future quantum computing threats. Accordingly, the network introduced a quantum-resistant address solution during the first half of 2026.

The solution has already reached TRONโ€™s testnet, allowing developers to evaluate its performance before any broader deployment.

However, the year-end target extends an earlier timeline announced by Sun in April for the networkโ€™s mainnet transition. At that time, TRON targeted a quantum-resistant testnet during the second quarter and mainnet implementation during the third quarter.
