Ethereum Foundation Adds SEAL 911 Co-Founder to Its Board

A co-founder of a crypto security hotline just took a seat on Ethereum’s top governing table. That’s not a sentence I expected to write this summer.

The Ethereum Foundation says pcaversaccio (pc) is joining its Board of Directors. It’s a one-year, voluntary term, and it lands at a time when incident response is basically a 24/7 job for anyone building on Ethereum (Ethereum Foundation Blog).

Names matter here. The current board is now Aya Miyaguchi, Vitalik Buterin, Patrick Storchenegger, and pcaversaccio, who also co-founded and leads SEAL 911 and is part of the EF’s Silviculture Society (Ethereum Foundation Blog).

Ethereum didn’t add another technologist in a vacuum. It added someone whose reputation is built on answering the most stressful phone calls in crypto: the ones you make when a protocol is bleeding funds.

Board composition is a signal. Adding an incident-response lead to a small board says security isn’t a project stream — it’s a first-principles constraint for everything the Foundation touches.
