United Airlines has confirmed George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston as the second hub for its United Airlines Boeing 787 Elevated service, and it’s a fairly big deal for the airline’s Texas base. Starting in October 2026, the aircraft will fly to Sao Paulo, Sydney, and Tokyo Narita, and United Airlines will also add London Heathrow to the Houston network on January 5, 2027. The Houston to Tokyo Narita sector alone covers 6,643 miles, and the airline is blocking the Sydney service at over 17 hours, which shows just how far United Airlines wants these Boeing 787-9 routes to stretch, and it’s a scale that anyone tracking UAL stock will probably want to keep in mind.
