Trump Threatens to Block Canada’s Bombardier Sales Unless It Builds Jets in U.S.

President Donald Trump has threatened to block Bombardier from selling aircraft in the United States without expanding its manufacturing footprint there. The move adds fresh pressure on Canada’s aerospace sector amid an escalating trade dispute between Washington and Ottawa.

Trump wants foreign manufacturers to produce more goods inside the United States. Consequently, his latest warning places Bombardier under growing pressure to increase American production.

Bombardier already operates a defense-focused facility in Kansas. The company uses that site to prepare aircraft for specialized missions.

However, Bombardier has not outlined plans for additional U.S. manufacturing following Trump’s latest demand. The company also has not publicly addressed the threat.
