Amazon is set to deploy 2 million additional Nvidia GPUs across its AWS data centers over the next two years, the two companies confirmed Wednesday. Nvidia stock jumped 4% in after-hours trading on the news, while Amazon moved up around 0.7%.
The chips will be rolled out in 2027 and 2028. This comes on top of the 1 million Nvidia GPUs Amazon announced in March, which are already being installed in AWS data centers this year.
The latest deal covers Nvidia’s Blackwell Ultra, Rubin, and Rubin Ultra GPUs. These are high-end chips built for training and running AI models, and they carry list prices in the tens of thousands of dollars per unit, though large customers typically negotiate discounts.
