Trump’s Crypto Meeting Tests Bitcoin’s Next Move as Rules Take Center Stage

Bitcoin is heading into a closely watched week as President Donald Trump is expected to join a White House meeting with executives from leading crypto and prediction-market companies.
The Aug. 19 meeting is expected to include leaders from Coinbase, Ripple, Robinhood, Polymarket and Kalshi, along with SEC Chairman Paul Atkins and CFTC Chairman Michael Selig. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick may also attend.
The meeting comes as Bitcoin struggles near $60,000, about half its value from its October peak. Trump’s expected appearance could give investors a clearer view of the administration’s approach to crypto regulation.
